This is a consideration for the relay to be upgraded from the “may use” list to the “must use some list”.

Guiding questions

  1. Does the relay operator have a testnet relay?
  2. Yes, this has been running for over a year

  3. How many days have node operators tested this relay?
    1. Has the relay been tested for a minimum of two weeks?
    2. yes, it has been running in the “allowlist” on mainnet for over 1.5 years

  4. What was the success and failure rate of the relay’s proposed blocks? All metrika monitoring tooling has been deprecated, so no details about this can be found for the entire period.
  5. Were there any incident or degraded performance reports from Lido Node Operators while testing the relay? (e.g. missed proposals due to missing/late payloads, validator registration errors, relay timeouts, etc.) simple status monitoring shows a stable uptime, with the exception of the first week of february 2025. Feb14-15 show a prolonged downtime during 2 days, which was caused by a migration to Google Cloud infra. caused by downtime on the old provider. 2025 feb 20th → downtime caused by a migration to Google Cloud infra. 2025 mar 7th → uptime has been stable since the migration 2025 mar 27th → uptime has been stable since the migration

  1. Were observed issues and incidents during testing investigated and resolved sufficiently in a timely manner? The only issue (see above) was acknowledged quickly after questions from Lido contributors, in a dedicated tg channel.
  2. Are there considerations and data to be observed and included from mainnet performance? NOM suggest monitoring uptime and latency for a short period after migration to Google Cloud.
  3. Has there been a report compiled to analyze the new relay with performance data on testnet and mainnet? As of yet no.
