The Community Staking Grants committee supports grassroots initiatives that benefit community operators, home stakers, and the broader Ethereum staking ecosystem.
Grants are capped at $10,000 USD with a total quarterly budget of $50,000 USD.
Requests exceeding $10,000 or falling out of scope will be redirected to the Lido Ecosystem Grants Organization (LEGO).
Scope
Your idea might be a good fit if it falls within any of these categories:
- Community Resources: Guides, tutorials, and other relevant community resources. Read about our guide and content grants policy here.
- Community Event-related: Sponsorship requests for community events focused on Lido and Ethereum staking.
- Research: Projects that help understand how to improve Community Staking-related parts of the Lido protocol.
- Integrations & Analytics: Products or services used by home stakers or independent operators seeking a grant to support Lido Community Staking tech (e.g., integrating CSM or SimpleDVT). Examples include tools like eth-docker, Dappnode, Sedge, or Stereum; refer to the CSM integration guide to better understand how to integrate CSM. We understand these often exceed the $10,000 cap, but we are happy to facilitate the process with LEGO.
Process
- Application — Reach out to one of the committee members below. Make sure you understand our scope and criteria.
- Evaluation — Committee members read and consider every submission. The more precise the proposal, the easier it is to evaluate. You're always welcome to continue the conversation if you have questions.
- Decision — Unless we reach out to clarify anything, there will be an internal vote and we will come back with a final decision.
- Activation — We process the grant and send funds in DAI on Ethereum Mainnet.
- Completion — Once the grant is done, we'll ask you to share a report with us.
Tips for submitting an application
The information you provide is critical to determining the viability of your grant. Some things to keep in mind:
- Be clear: We need to understand the goals, how you plan to achieve them concretely, and your work's output(s). Is it an event or a knowledge base? Who will use it and why?
- Show your work: Providing information about who you are and relevant previous experience helps us better understand and have confidence in the grant's execution.
A helpful template to prepare a short pitch:
Title: What is the grant application about? Author(s): Who will work on the proposal (experience, previous significant achievements)? Purpose: How will it contribute to the community of operators in Lido? Why is it important? Summary: A summary of the grant application (3–4 sentences). Details: Timelines, expense estimates.
