The Evolution of the Lido Community Staking Module

Lido contributors published a forum post that outlines the scope of CSM v2, the next step in CSM evolution, which aims to expand permissionless participation, refine the reward structure, and introduce features like Entry Gates to better support independent Community Stakers. Additionally, the proposed features of CSM v2 include improved validator performance monitoring, enhanced deposit mechanisms, and adjustments to economic incentives to ensure competitiveness with other staking modules.

UI Improvements

Welcome to the new tab where we've gathered all the forms Node Operators can voluntarily submit to enhance transparency regarding their participation in the Lido Protocol. Here, Node Operators can provide details such as contact information, experience, and infrastructure setup. This information may be used for report building (VaNOM), UI/UX improvements, or feedback purposes. The approach remains the same: sharing this information is entirely optional. However, we've made it easier — no more custom forms. Now, the Node Operators can conveniently submit your data directly through the CSM interface!

Lido Protocol Compatibility with Ethereum’s Pectra Upgrade

In addition to the initial blog post published in February that outlines Lido’s Roadmap to Pectra with required changes to the Lido Protocol to ensure its compatibility with Ethereum’s Pectra Upgrade, Lido contributors published the second blog post that describes the future considerations around implementing EIP-7251 and EIP-7002 into the Lido Protocol.

The main highlights of the post are the following:

  • Ongoing research shows minimal changes in slashing risk beyond 100 validators per host, with faster response times being key to mitigating losses.
  • While larger validators see slight APR improvements, consolidation offers no major financial incentive.
  • Lido v3 & stVaults will be ready to immediately support consolidation without requiring changes, allowing for an easy transition.
  • Rolling out consolidation to existing modules (starting with the Curated Set) requires research and technical upgrades, which are currently ongoing with expected support to start in Q1 2026.
  • Additionally, this discussion provides an overview of EIP-7002, detailing the motivation and technical specifications for triggerable withdrawals.

Transition from Holesky to Hoodi

The main parts of the Lido Protocol have successfully transitioned to the Hoodi testnet and the Pectra hardfork has been thoroughly tested on the new testnet instance.
