Node Operator Community
NOCC #17
Check out the 15th Node Operator Community Call covering the following topics:
1. SimpleDVT updates 2. EIP-6110 overview 3. Intro to Scale3
Request for Proposal | CSM and SDVTM integration
Active work is underway to integrate the Simple DVT module under previously allocated grants as a part of the Request for Proposal.
The Simple DVT x Obol integrations made by Dappnode and Stereum are being tested in the Obol testnet #4 and the results of the work done will be shared by partners on forums
The evaluation of CSM integration proposals will follow in May.
Community Lifeguard Initiative
Lido Community Lifeguards have published the Q1 update, covering the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Community Lifeguards in the first quarter of 2024. It includes the launch of the Community Staking Fleet (CS Fleet) Initiative to increase the number of home stakers, updates on pilot communities selected for collaboration, regional analyses, Lifeguards' appearances at conferences to promote solo staking, support for Simple DVT trials, production of community staking content, and much more.
Applications are still open for new Lido Community Lifeguards. If you're interested in contributing to the Ethereum community staking ecosystem, apply here.
VaNOM Q1/24
Although VaNOM is not yet out for Q1/24 at the time of writing, preliminary data shows that Node Operators have reduced the usage of the supermajority Execution Layer client (geth) to ~46%, marking this quarter the most successful quarter in the push for EL since the Merge in September 2022.
GateSeal Renewal
Vote 174 has passed, concerning updating the GateSeal for the WithdrawalQueue
and ValidatorExitBusOracle
contracts to extend the expiration date to April 1, 2025.
The GateSeal enables a one-time, immediate emergency pause of these contracts for 6 days.
It provides the Lido protocol an important protective measure, enabling the DAO to address potential unforeseen vulnerabilities through temporary pausing of certain contracts.
This current vote supports the continuity of this security feature.

Community Staking Module
Devnet-0
As a part of the preparation for the CSM testnet, Devnet-0 was launched on Holesky to test the changes in off-chain tooling (DSM + VEBO) made to adjust the Lido protocol for the upcoming CSM testnet launch, and parts of CSM functionality.

CSM code is now pubic! Check out the repository.
CSM & DVT integrations
The contributors of the Community Staking team are exploring the additional possible use cases of the CSM, looking into the opportunity to introduce a way for DVT providers to create a custom integrations with CSM in a way that will simplify the user experience for DV clusters to join and operate as a node operators in CSM by the assigning a custom managerAddress
and rewardAddress
upon Node Operator creation. Follow the link to read more about design considerations of custom integrations.
