Staking Modules Updates
Community Staking Module
CSM v2 Went Live on Mainnet
On October 2nd, the CSM v2 upgrade launched on mainnet, activating a 5% stake share limit, introducing differentiated parameters for various Node Operator (NO) types, and enabling the optional Identified Community Staker (ICS) framework. It marks a significant milestone in Lido’s roadmap, improving the module’s security, efficiency, and decentralization, empowering independent operators to actively participate in Ethereum validation.
The ICS framework, designed to empower truly independent operators, saw strong early traction:
- 399 applications submitted,
- 322 approvals to date,
- 184 operators already enjoying enhanced parameters, including boosted rewards, lower bond requirements, and priority queue access.
These tailored benefits make the CSM more attractive and sustainable for Community Stakers, while bringing more diversity to the Lido Node Operator set.
ICS Application Round #2 is Open Till December 21
Please note, operators who have applied after October 1 will be evaluated in the second review round, scheduled for December. If you haven’t applied yet, there’s still time to submit the application and unlock exclusive ICS benefits and an easier, more rewarding experience within CSM.
One Year of CSM: Journey Towards Permissionless Lido
October also marked the first anniversary of the CSM, a year that transformed Lido’s permissionless staking vision into action. Since launch, the Module has become a major milestone in the protocol’s ongoing effort to make Ethereum more decentralized, inclusive, and resilient staking ecosystem.
From supporting Community Stakers to fostering the growth of independent staking groups through the Lido Community Staking Tribes initiative, the CSM has paved the way for broader operator diversity and a more decentralized Ethereum.
Catch the year-in-review highlights to see how far it has come — and what lies ahead.

Curated Module
mev-commit PERCH Proposal
Lido Node Operator Mechanisms (NOM) contributors have collaborated with the Primev team to provide a safe and governance-aligned pathway for Node Operators to participate in mev-commit, Primev’s APM, while keeping incentives transparent and aligned with the DAO goals.
Lido validator participation in mev-commit can be made possible through two key mechanisms:
Lido Reputation Vault: Allow reputable operators to onboard with lowest collateral requirements (1 ETH per NO for any number of keys VS the standard 3 ETH per key), while ensuring accountability.
Lido Rewards Router: A smart contract splitter that enables governance-defined, verifiable distribution of earned rewards, ensuring stETH stakers remain the primary beneficiaries.
If you’re interested in opting in, read the full proposal and share your intent on the Research Forum. A decision on approval for Curated Node Operators will be shared later in November.
Erigon + Caplin Stack Testing on Hoodi
The Erigon team invites Curated Module Node Operators to test their new integrated consensus and execution client — Erigon + Caplin — on the Hoodi testnet. This new setup promises optimized performance, resource efficiency, and enhanced snapshot delivery and repair mechanisms.
The testing phase is vital for Erigon, as it allows gathering real-world performance metrics and stability data. Erigon’s developers will provide full support throughout the testing, including technical assistance and rapid troubleshooting. Refer to the setup guide and instructions available here.
Node Operator Community
Lido Poolside: Institutional
In October, Lido Poolside community call went institutional. Experts from leading ETF issuers — Bitwise, VanEck, and WisdomTree — joined to unpack the emerging world of crypto ETFs and what role Lido could play in bridging TradFi into crypto.
The second half of the call spotlighted the future of Lido Core, as Will from the NOM Workstream shared contributors’ perspectives on how the protocol should evolve over the next year.

Lido V3 & stVaults Launching Soon
Lido V3 stVaults Testnet-3 is Live!
Following Lido DAO’s approval of the Lido V3 design and implementation, Testnet-3 is in full swing, marking the last stop before Lido V3 ships to mainnet. This testnet serves as the new long-living home for Lido’s upgraded contracts and introduces several key improvements:
- stVaults CLI supports new contracts by default, while Testnet-2 remains still supported in the dedicated branch.
- An improved Web UI is available at a permanent address. The old one, pointing to Testnet-2, remains available until mainnet.
- The PredepositGuarantee contract has been significantly improved to better safeguard Vault Owner funds. Read more.

Powered by stVaults: Case Studies Now Live
To illustrate the power and flexibility of stVaults, Lido contributors in collaboration with staking providers have kicked off a series of case studies where the latter share their experience in leveraging Lido stVaults capabilities to build dedicated staking setups and strategies to cater a wide range of use cases — from composable products to institutional-grade offerings.
Early Builders and Partners: Open Call
As Lido contributors prepare for Lido V3 mainnet launch, they’re inviting early builders, Node Operators, integrators, and partners to join the initial launch wave. Whether you're:
- Building or launching products using stVaults infrastructure
- Planning to join co-launch or co-marketing activities around V3
- Aiming to help shape the next phase of Ethereum staking
… Lido contributors would be happy to support your efforts with visibility, technical help, and co-marketing.
If you’re building something and aim for V3 launch, fill out this form and join the Lido V3 launch wave.
Triggerable Withdrawals Framework in the Lido Protocol
Framework On-Chain Implementation
The Triggerable Withdrawals (TW) is now fully implemented in the Lido protocol, following its approval via on-chain Vote #192 and successful completion of the Dual Governance review.
This framework addresses a long-standing issue in delegated staking by reducing trust assumptions via introduction of a permissionless and
verifiable validator exit flows.
This newly introduced mechanism complements the existing validator exit path and represents an important shift toward more resilient and fault- tolerant Lido protocol, paving the way for truly permissionless staking in line with DAO’s long-term goals.
This upgrade not only strengthens Lido’s robustness, but also reinforces its commitment to ensuring a trustless Ethereum staking experience.
Operational Alignment: Validator Ejector 1.9.0 and Validator Exits v3 SNOP
To ensure full compatibility of the protocol tooling and operation standards and support for the Triggerable Withdrawals framework, a couple of updates were made:
- Validator Ejector 1.9.0 Released on Mainnet The latest version of the Validator Ejector includes full support for TW-related features. Useful resources: what’s new and migration guide, Docker image.
- Updated Validator Exit SNOP LDO tokenholders approved the revised Lido on Ethereum Standard Node Operator Protocol – Validator Exits v3, which clarifies the exit procedures for the NOs, as well as the expectations for Node Operators executing withdrawals across the different modules, taking into account the new Triggerable Withdrawal mechanisms.
Fusaka Hardfork Readiness
Mainnet Upgrade is Coming
The Fusaka successfully activated on Hoodi testnet on October 28th. Mainnet upgrade is scheduled for December 3rd, 2025, at 9:49:11pm UTC (slot 13,164,544). You can find client compatibility details and readiness resources in the official Ethereum Foundation announcement:

Lido Validators Gas Limits
EIP-7935, included in the upcoming Fusaka, raise Ethereum’s default gas limit to 60M, a 33.33% increase from today’s 45M and 2x the 30M limit at the start of 2025. This increase, backed by extensive cross-client testing, will allow a greater transaction throughput and more efficient block space usage.
By actively participating in testnets and updating infrastructure in line with these changes, Lido Node Operators help ensure Ethereum’s scalability and resilience.
As of November 1, Lido validator gas limit on Ethereum mainnet have stabilized following months of steady growth. Currently, 94.3% of Lido validators are voting for a 45M+ gas limit. The breakdown is as follows:
- 89.7% (+1.1pp. MoM) voting for 45M
- 4.9% (+0.2pp. MoM) voting for 60M
