March Validator Set Updates

Node Operator Community

NOCC #16

Follow along the March agenda of the Lido Node Operator Community call:

Request for Proposal | CSM and SDVTM integration

The LEGO committee has diligently reviewed all submissions and has selected the following proposals for integration: - Dappnode Proposal for SDVTM integration - Stereum SimpleDVT Integration Grant Proposal - Ebunker Proposal for LIDO SDVTM integration

In light of the RFP specifying integrations with two distinct modules, namely SDVTM and CSM, each with differing timelines, and considering that the specifications for the CSM module are not yet finalized, the committee has opted to prioritize the assessment of proposals related to the SDVTM integration. Subsequently, the evaluation of CSM integration proposals will follow suit.

Community Staking Fleet Proposal

Community Staking Fleet proposal has received a total of 15 applications, each perfectly aligned with the profiles the proposal was looking for. After thorough feedback and discussions among the Lifeguards and Lido contributors, the two communities were picked for further collaboration: Bitskwela and The Mu Buenos Aires.

Community Lifeguard Initiative

Applications are open for new Lido Community Lifeguards. If you're interested in contributing to the Ethereum community staking ecosystem, apply here.

D.U.C.K. Knowledge Base Alpha Release

The Alpha Release of the D.U.C.K. Knowledge Base is live! Check it out to access open-source resources tailored for node operators, enhancing operational efficiency and mitigating risks in staking infrastructure management.

InfStones resumption of active status

The DAO voted to allow InfStones to resume active status in the Curated Module.

Dencun Hardfork

Ethereum’s Dencun hardfork successfully took place on March 13th, with no serious issues noted on the network during the transition. A validator which is a part of the Lido protocol was the first validator to propose a block with multiple blobs (what is a blob?)!

Module Updates

Simple DVT Updates

Lido x Obol

Over the past month, 12 Obol Cohort 1 clusters were added to the Simple DVT Node Operator Registry on mainnet by the Simple DVT Module Committee via an Easy Track motion.

A subsequent Easy Track motion has started to raise the key limit for the first 5 clusters to 5 validators on mainnet, with additional expected Easy Track motions to raise the key limit for the remainder of clusters in the coming days.

Thirty days after all 12 clusters reach 5 active validators, a performance summary will be shared for the DAO to review. If performance looks comparable to the overall mainnet validator set, the performance summary will include a proposal with a week discussion period to raise the key limits of these clusters to 10 validators each and start the onboarding process of the Lido x Obol Cohort 2 clusters.

The next Lido x Obol Simple DVT testnet will start in April.

Lido x SSV

The aggregate SSV performance metrics are indicating performance well above the required benchmarks as of the end of March, and if trends remain on track will lead to a successful completion of the Lido x SSV testnet.

However, due to a new version of SSV’s DKG tool that is intended to be used on mainnet, the ongoing SSV testnet has been extended for 2-3 weeks and will be wrapped up in April.
